Examples of the areas we deal with:
Academic Appeals, Intercalation, Repeating or Deferring, Withdrawing, Transferring course or to another Uni, University Complaints and Harassment, Course Problems involving supervisor support or quality issues, struggling with studies, Mitigating circumstances, Unfair Means procedures and more...
If you are experiencing difficulties with your course you have a number of contact points:
Personal Supervisor: from the beginning of your studies an academic member of staff from your department, who will be assigned to you as your Personal Supervisor. They are there to support you throughout your studies, and should be your first port of call if you are having problems that may be affecting your studies. They can give you advice and guidance, and/or point you in the direction of further help, support and advice. If you don’t know who your Personal Supervisor is then ask at your departmental office. http://student.hull.ac.uk/handbook/academic/Supervisors/index.html
Senior Tutor: A member of staff from another faculty who you can approach for independent support if you cannot resolve a matter internally. They are often very knowledgeable and can be very helpful to a student seeking advice on Academic Appeals, repeating years, mitigating circumstances and more.
