Do you have a great idea for a volunteering project but don’t have the funds to take it further? ACE can help you! Your project can be about pretty much anything as long as it benefits the community in some way.
You can choose the issues you want to tackle and plan how you will do this. You might want to create a DVD to raise awareness of a particular issue or run an event to raise money for a particular cause. All you need is a good idea and a group of people aged 16-25 to take it forward.
Your group will work together on your project for two sessions a week over 12 weeks (these can be inside or outside term time) and receive assistance and funds from a dedicated support worker.
Holy Trinity Church in town is 700 years old and England’s largest parish church. The church attracts many visitors and volunteer guides are needed to welcome members of the public, conduct group tours (including some schools groups) and answer any questions they may have. Some visitors to the church may also need someone to talk to or pray with (volunteers only do this if they are comfortable with it).
This would be an ideal role if you have an interest in architecture or local history or just if you enjoy meeting new people.
