Mikey J - Hulltimate #66
Herald from the Peterborough, used to play football and cricket but now really only play Ultimate.
I was easily persuaded to go along to training after freshers week by the imfamous Sean Mullen (the bellringer) along with the legendary Glenn Culbard (head mincer). We were hooked instantly by the beautiful game and became good friends with the legends that play in Hull. So when we won our very first beginners tournament there has been no turning back. I've ended up with that trophy in case one was wondering, cheers! Yeah so since then the tournaments, drunken antics and the legends of our club have become pinnacle elements to my uni experience.
Even though I took 6 months abroad last year I've come back all the more eager. We won the plate at York outdoor regionals, which considering it was the first time most of us had played outdoors was a great acheivement. Now i just can't get enough of outdoors and have been playing the open season with the LeedsLeedsLeeds2 team, which has been fucking amazing. I've learnt so much, met many ultimate legends, it's genuinely such a cool experience to see all these players across the country taking it to the edge rain or shine.
As I write this I'm currently out of nationals (final tournament of the open season) due to injury but I've still got the Burla Beach Tourament in Italy to look forward to as I'm going with some of the past Hulltimate legends and will be back mid freshers week. This year will be immense!!
