Most of the HUSSO projects use a minibus to get the participants and volunteers to and from the project destination so our volunteer minibus drivers are extremely important to the whole operation!
If you would like to be a minibus driver, you can choose to drive for one particular project either weekly or fortnightly or you could choose to go in our pool of drivers, to be called on an ad hoc basis.
Drivers can choose to help out with the project they drive for or they can just be involved with the driving side of things and nothing more.
To become a minibus driver, you need to:
- Be over 21
- Have a clean driving licence
- Have at least two years’ driving experience
- Pass the minibus test with one of the porters
- Complete a 50 mile familiarisation with one of the porters.
If you fulfil the first three of the criteria above and would like to help out contact Naomi on n.alty@hull.ac.uk. We will then arrange a time for you to take your minibus test. If you already hold an HUU minibus licence then you are all set to go!
