Volunteer Specification:
You will need lots of enthusiasm, patience and boundless energy! You will need to be unflappable, able to relate well to children and have a sense of humour. You will also need to be reliable and committed, as the project will only work if the children build up a rapport with the volunteers.
Training for this Area will include:

The projects:
Saturday Larkin
Project Co-ordinator: TBC
What: Working with school-age children from 4-13, volunteers run fun activities and day trips aimed at increasing social skills and self-esteem. The project goes out on Saturday mornings and volunteers can help out weekly or fortnightly.
When and where: Volunteers will meet the minibus on campus and will be dropped off on campus at the end of the project. The project goes out weekly on Saturday mornings during university term time.
Flintstones
Project Co-ordinator: TBC
What: A project which takes children living temporarily at a women’s refuge out on day trips and other fun activities. The project gives the children the chance for some stability at a chaotic time in their lives and allows their mothers to have some time to themselves
When and where: Volunteers will meet the minibus on campus and will be dropped off on campus at the end of the project. Flintstones goes out weekly on Wednesday afternoons during university term time.
Funday Wednesday
