Training for volunteers in this Area will include:
• Health and Safety
• Listening and communication
• A look at life behind bars
• Prison regulations and expectations

Volunteers on this project must attend a training session at HMP Wolds.

Project available:

Prison Education

Project Co-ordinator: TBC
What: Volunteers work under supervision in a classroom setting at HMP Wolds (a category C training prison). The academic ability ranges from complete illiteracy to studying at a degree level so volunteers must be flexible in their approach to supporting the men with their studies.

When and where: Volunteers arrange their times with the prison. Ideally, this will be one morning or afternoon a week but the prison can also accommodate those who would like to do more intensive hours, eg, every day for one or two weeks
