The shooting club is based on clay pigeon shooting. The shooting club does not have any standards required so anyone who wants to come along is welcome from beginners to life-long shooters! The club supplies the guns but anyone with a license and their own gun is welcome to bring that too. Members have the choice to come along and not even shoot all the way up to shooting over 100 cartridges on either a compact or sporting shoot. Shooting can be considered expensive so we don’t feel that you have to come every week. Every fortnight is fine, just as long as there is some commitment.
Instead of tour which most clubs go on, we go to at least 2 shooting competitions every year and host our own. These include St.Andrews in November and the BUCS Nationals held at Harper Adams in the New year. We then host our own around Easter time hopefully before revision gets in the way too much. The shooting club is a really relaxed and we normally end up going for drinks afterwards...or before on the competitions! Come along if you want to try something new or if you want to stick to country pursuits!
Training:
When – Wednesday afternoons, 1.30pm meet at the uni sports centre.
Where – We drive to a shooting ground about an hour away in Lincolnshire. Any drivers are very helpful and get a box of free cartridges.
